- This blog has been designed to document my journey with my Sisterlocks installed on November 3, 2008. I can't wait for my hair to start growing. I have read so many blogs lately of women who have aleady embarked upon this wonderful journey and I have decided to join in this new found freedom. I have learned so much from reading blogs and hopefully I will be of inspiration to others especially those with chronic problems like Traction Alopecia. I have been dealing with this for about 10 years. I am now seriously trying to recover from this condition, hopefully I am not to far gone. If my hair does not grow back, then I will just style my Sisterlocks accordingly to cover it up. I now spread my wings..........................

ReplyDeleteThank you soooo very much for posting so bravely about your struggle with thraction alopecia. too, have this problem. the worst part has to be people feeling the need to comment on it and/ or touch it- as if i didn't already know it existed... it can be very frustrating. Although my loss is not as far gone as yours it is ver visible if i pull the hair back or do a pin-up. Some days i have felt so bad about it i thought my only option was to get implants.
I've wanted to get sister locks but thought it would draw more attention to the area, but i see that it is another option. Thanks again! and best wishes to you and yours for 2010!
